Hawaii!!!!!!

Well we have returned from our long awaited trip to the beautiful island of Oahu, Hawaii. It was such a wonderful vacation and I honestly cant wait till I can return! I will post more pictures when I am able, but these are a few that I took with my phone.

This is the view from my parents and brothers room. We stayed in the Waikiki Sunset, about a block off Waikiki beach front, on the 35th floor!
Their view is of Diamond head and the Waikiki beach, along with the Honolulu zoo below.

And this was Tamsen's and my view from our room.
We had the view of the slopping view of the mountain side of Waikiki.

Me on the Waikiki beach at sun set on our first day. The water was so AMAZING!!! So warm.
This is where we went snorkeling. This is Hanauma Bay near North Shore. There is all kinds of fish of all colors! I saw one that was changing colors right in front of me!!! There is also see turtles my mom, Tamsen, and I chased one around one till Tamsen got close enough to touch it! She was so excited!

This is the Waikiki beach front that we spent more of our vacation. Wonderful and refreshing.

The USS Arizona Memorial. I believe this was one of my favorite parts of the whole vacation!!

This is the beautiful sunset while we were at the Luau at Paradise Cove.

This is Vincent, Tamsen, and I in the elevator on the way down the long 35 stories.

Mary's Lamb

Mary had a little Lamb, His fleece was white as snow.

And everywhere that Mary went, the Lamb was sure to go.

He'd follow her to school each day, when it wasn't against the rules.

He made the children laugh and play, to have the Lamb at school.
Then one day the rules changed, against the law it became, to bring the Lamb to school or even speak His name.

Everyday got worse and worse, and days turned into years.

Instead of hearing children laugh and play, you hear them crying tears.
What must we do to stop crime that's in our schools today?

Let the Lamb come back to school,

and teach our children to pray.

A Tribute to a Fallen Soldier

In Loving Memory of our Brave Soldier....
Staff Sargent Bryan Hall

On Friday, April 10, 2009, our country lost 5 of our brave soldiers fighting for our freedom in Iraq. Among those soldiers was my neighbor, Staff Sergeant Bryan E. Hall,32 of Elk Grove. While doing a regular day of patrol his military vehicle was hit by a suicide vehicle-borne improvised explosive device in Mosul, Iraq. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 67th Armor Regiment based out of Fort Carson, Colorado.

His family thanks everyone for their prayers and support.

His family remaining are both parents, a sister, a wife, and 2 year old daughter.

Also killed in the attack were Staff Sgt. Gary L. Woods Jr., 24, of Lebanon Junction, Ky; Sgt. Edward W. Forrest Jr., 25, of St. Louis, Mo; Cpl. Jason G. Pautsch, 20, of Davenport, Iowa; and PV2 Bryce E. Gautier, 22, of Cypress, Calif.

Well its day 31 for us being in the hospital so far this year.....and boy has it been a ride that we are ready to get off. But God id doing some great things and with all the great support from family and friends it is so much easier to make it through another day. Right now we are on day 10 of our 5th stay at Sutter Memorial. All the nurses are so awesome!! and of course he has his favorite nurses(we do also :)).This stay has been the longest and we are exspecting to come home around Monday. Just in time for No Limits!!Yeah cant wait!! Its just the devil roarin cause we have just keep knocking more and more teeth out every time he trys to come around. But with the recovery from surgery this past Tuesday, it has been slow, but steady. They put in a McKey button into his stomach so he can eat. He has not had any more fever since last week and everything is looking good. You can also check out his web site at http://www.chrisncrohns.blogspot.com/

More then just for coffee??????

COFFEE FILTERS: Not just for making coffee...
1. Cover bowls or dishes when cooking in the microwave.Coffee filters make excellent covers.
2. Clean windows and mirrors. Coffee filters arelint-free so they'll leave windows sparkling.
3. Protect China .. Separate your good dishes by puttinga coffee filter between each dish.
4. Filter broken cork from wine. If you break the corkwhen opening a wine bottle, filter the wine through acoffee filter.
5. Protect a cast-iron skillet. Place a coffee filter inthe skillet to absorb moisture and prevent rust.
6. Apply shoe polish. Ball up a lint-free coffee filter.
7. Recycle frying oil. After frying, strain oil through asieve lined with a coffee filter.
8. Weigh chopped foods. Place chopped ingredients in acoffee filter on a kitchen scale.
9. Hold tacos. Coffee filters make convenient wrappersfor messy foods.
10. Stop the soil from leaking out of a plant pot. Line aplant pot with a coffee filter to prevent the soil fromgoing through the drainage holes.
11. Prevent a Popsicle from dripping. Poke one or twoholes as needed in a coffee filter.
12. Do you think we need to use expensive strips to waxeyebrows? Use strips of coffee filters.
13. Put a few in a plate and put your fried bacon, Frenchfries, chicken fingers, etc on them. Soaks out all thegrease.
14. Keep in the bathroom. They make great "razor nickfixers."
...didnt think it was used for anything but coffee huh...me either :O)
